Lunch for the French is an important moment in the day. If possible everybody goes home since it is a family event. The people working at a larger distance from home go out to lunch with colleagues. Around ‘midi’ (noon) the many lunch places and terraces quickly fill up for a meal which ar least consists of a main dish (often with rose) and dessert and a cup of coffee.
