Hotel Le Pigonnet

A beautiful oasis close to the old centre and my second home for 7 years

This has always been the favorite hotel in Aix-en-Provence for me and my family. And it still would be if I weren’t living now near Aix. For seven years I stayed here several nights every month so really got to know the place very well.

I saw the hotel transformed into a grand, luxury 5-star establishment up by the former managing director Tatiana Halimi and her father (and co-owners like the famous French actor Christophe(r) Lambert from Highlander, Greystoke, The Legend of Tarzan). In 2019 the hotel was sold to Esprit de France who is continuing the good work Tatiana and her father did.

The most beautiful hotel garden of Aix-en-Provence

The Pigonnet has the most beautiful garden with a pool and outdoor lounge area of Aix-en-Provence. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening there is live music. Also, the people working there, from receptionist and breakfast lady to sommelier, are very friendly.

Like Pierre who learned the trade at The Ritz in Paris and professionally manages the team in the outside bar/lounge in the beautiful garden with pool and in the indoor bar during the winter. If you go there: say hello to Pierre and his team from me! And order the famous French75 cocktail: lemon juice, gin, a slice of orange, ice, and topped off with champagne. Brilliant! I have added some links under the buttons below to other reviews about the Pigonnet.
